A new moon in your sign sets a year-long cycle in motion, and if it is your birthday on the 25th the next twelve months will take you in new and welcome directions. However, as with all things astrological, you don’t get a free pass to a new and better phase: it’s going to take work. And this is a theme playing long and loud for all Virgos in the late August-early September period.
Getting from A to B will take work, whether in the sense of travel or accomplishing your agendas, and you may have to reach a difficult decision. Before you commit thought to action, however, ensure you are in possession of the full facts. Not for nothing is Neptune known as the Great Deceiver.

The new Zodiac Mug from Penny Thornton makes the perfect gift for the Virgo in your life. The mugs have an individual phrase printed on the inside of the rim to match each of the Sun signs.
Is it just me or is that infinitive split?
You are rarely short of ideas but putting them into action is more of a challenge. However, sweep away those self-doubts and stop setting the bar too high. At this stage it is more important to get your plans off the ground. It is possible that someone you hold in high regard is fuelling your doubts rather than boosting your confidence, and the reason is that person is fearful of your success. Don’t be fooled. Lovely Venus will be in your sign from the 5th onwards, setting you in a favourable light and speeding the course of love, thus increasing your chances of personal and professional success. The full moon of the 9th falls on the relationship axis and marks the end of a long chapter: for some Virgos this means going hand in hand into the future with a partner and for others it is time to consider the benefits of liberation!
Virgo is a self-effacing sign, industrious and wise, but if you yearn to make it to the top, find a partner who will not let you down, and in general lead a life you know you are entirely capable of, you have to put yourself forward, and take a risk. You won’t fail, and you most certainly won’t fail under your 2014 stars.
This is a year to find your creative spirit, whether this translates as starting a business endeavour, focusing on artistic projects or bringing babies into the world. Collaborations of all kinds represent the major growth area of your horoscope, and you can expect to be meeting with some powerful people and sharing experiences that are transformative to say the least.
While you may indeed opt to release your creative power by holistic and spiritual practices, love is going to be the route that brings out a new and very different you. Late January, late April and early July are peak periods in a year that could take you from the humdrum to Hallelujah!.
We have to talk Neptune again. Hopefully, by now you know the pluses and the pitfalls of this mysterious planet, so you don’t give partners the benefit of the doubt when it is glaringly obvious to everyone else that you are being lied to and betrayed, but you do allow your heart to open when someone true and good appears.
Saying that you don’t believe in falling in love doesn’t make you immune to the experience. It is the August Virgos who have the most to win and lose in 2014, although if you become deeply enthralled by someone or a partner keeps moving the goalposts and avoiding commitment, you’ll know where to point the finger – planet Neptune.
April and September are the most eventful months for relationships, and you can also expect to be shaken and stirred on or near 8 and 23 October and 20 December.
Taking time off to study or enrolling on weekend courses in order add to your skills and knowledge has been something of a theme for the past couple of years, due to Saturn’s presence in the area of education and information. So, if you haven’t yet taken advantage of this transit, do so this year. Increasing your computer skills and exploring the internet for ways to beef up your income is recommended in 2014.
During the latter part of this decade there could be further global economic problems so now is the time to diversify and build up your resources. Two of the eclipses (15 April and 8 October) fall on the financial axis of your solar chart, boosting some Virgos’ incomes and creating cash-flow crises in others.
You are most financially vulnerable in regard to personal and professional partnerships: make it your business to know exactly what is being earned and spent, and don’t have open-ended agreements with anyone.

Certainly, a rising Venus bestows charm and often great looks but Cancer is far from extrovert. It's her sun-Mars conjunction that gives her that tom-boy appeal and her sporty nature.
